Requesting Nominations for Lifetime Achievement Award and Volunteer of the Year Award
Harrisburg Bicycle Club is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Owen Moore Lifetime Achievement Award and the Volunteer of the Year Award. All nominations must be submitted by October 1, 2024, to be eligible.
The Owen Moore Lifetime Achievement Award is given annually to recognize a Harrisburg Bicycle Club member who has distinguished him/herself by dedicating a minimum of *3 years of time and effort to the success of the Harrisburg Bicycle Club. The honoree will receive a $200 check that he or she may utilize to spend time with his/her family. In addition, the honoree will receive a plaque and a free lifetime membership for an individual membership or a family membership in the Harrisburg Bike Club.
Requirements for the Owen Moore Achievement Award are:
· Must be a current member of the Harrisburg Bicycle Club
· Has distinguished themselves by dedicating a minimum of 3 years of time and effort to the
success of the Harrisburg Bicycle Club.
. Has demonstrated significant contributions such as volunteering, mentorship to
cyclists and fosters the spirit of the Club.
· Current Board of Directors and individuals not current club members that promote cycling in
the community or advocating safety are not eligible.
This award, which previously had no limit on nominations, is now given only “once” to a
member.

Volunteer of the Year is awarded annually to recognize HBC members who distinguished themselves by dedicating significant time and effort to the success of the Club in the past year. The selected member will receive a commemorative plague and awarded a $100 credit for any club event such the HBC Banquet, Club trips and other events.
Requirements are the same as the same as the Lifetime Service Award. HBC member shall have made significant contributions to the club through volunteering, mentorship, ride leader development, leading rides or working in other club operations. However, this award may be given to a member more than once for significant service in different years.
To nominate a person to either award, send an email to srtusseyhbc@outlook.com describing how the nominee is deserving of the award. The award will be announced and presented at the Annual Banquet November 18, 2024.
