This advisory position supports implementation of the Township’s Comprehensive Plan, transportation related policies, and capital improvement efforts by assisting with planning, development review, outreach, and grant-related activities focused on active transportation and multimodal mobility.
The Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisor may:
• Review subdivision, land development, and other development applications to ensure bicycle and pedestrian accommodations are consistent with Township ordinances, adopted plans, and sound planning principles;
• Participate, as available, in meetings of the Transportation Group, Subdivision and Land Development Pre-Application Review Committee, and other applicable working groups;
• Coordinate with Dauphin County, PennDOT, regional planning organizations, and neighboring municipalities on bicycle and pedestrian initiatives;
• Assist in identifying grant and funding opportunities for bicycle and pedestrian projects.
The Advisor is appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a one-year term. Candidates may include bicyclists, runners, walkers, individuals who use wheelchairs, individuals with visual impairments, or members of the public at large.
