Upcoming Events to Promote Cycling in Harrisburg
Harrisburg Holiday Parade, Saturday, Nov. 23
Riders of all ages are invited to participate in the Harrisburg Holiday Parade. Decorate your bikes and show everyone how much fun riding in the Burg can be! Meet on City Island between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. You must bike to City Island, as cars will not be able to get through. Look for the Recycle Bicycle trailer. The parade starts at noon. The theme is “Winter Wonderland”.
Santa Ride, Saturday, Dec. 14 2:30 p.m., sponsored by Recycle Bicycle
Show that cyclists care about others by riding through the city to collect donations of new socks for the needy. Dress as Santa or an elf! The short ride begins on Commonwealth Avenue behind the Capitol and ends at Italian Lake where the socks will be delivered during Bethesda Mission’s “Tremendous Christmas” event. Riders are welcome to donate socks, too. All styles and sizes welcome.
