Bike the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail (NWLCRT) From Falmouth to Columbia and Back 9:00 AM, Monday, May 13, 2024 Distance 28 miles Speed 8 – 11 mph Ride leader: Karl Martz The weather prediction of tomorrow is "a perfect day!" Let‘s go for a ride on the NWLCRT! The Northwest Lancaster County River Trail runs along the Susquehanna River from Falmouth PA to Columbia, PA. All of the trail is paved. The trail is located between the Susquehanna River and Pennsylvania Route 441. We will meet at 8:45 AM at the Falmouth Boat Launch, 111 Collins Rd. Bainbridge PA 17502. The ride will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. Helmets are required. In-the-ear listening devices are not allowed. This is an out-and-back ride. Bring water and snack. We will take a rest stop when we arrive in Columbia at the Columbia Crossings River Trails Center (restrooms, picnic tables, and a great view of the river). Other stops as needed. Address: 1000 Loucks Mill Road, York. Take the Arsenal Road Exit off I-83 and go towards Lancaster to the second traffic light and turn right. Meet at 9:45 AM and be ready to ride at 10:00 AM. The trail surface is compacted crushed stone with asphalt in some areas. It can be managed with a road bike but a bike with wider tires would be recommended. Much of the trail is shaded. Questions? Welcome to the Mechanicsburg Sunday C ride! We meet in the back parking lot of the Mechanicsburg high school and the ride time is determined by that weeks ride leader.
